Wedding Dance Lessons LAWe’ve all seen those amazing YouTube videos of wedding couples stepping out onto the dance floor and wowing guests with a jaw-dropping first dance. If you think that is something that you could only dream about doing, think again.

With a little patience and the right wedding dance instruction, you too could be able take center stage at your wedding and knock the socks off of your guests by impressing them with your new amazing dance moves. Wondering how you can do this? Here’s look at some of the ways you can prepare yourself for that all important first dance.

Take as Many Dance Lessons in Different Styles as You Can

Every wedding couple will have a preference for what style of dance they want for their first dance. Some couples prefer going out and wowing the crowd with a slow, elegant waltz, while others want to kick the party off on a high note with an uplifting swing dance routine.

If you have never danced before or it has been a while, you may not know what style of dance you will want for your wedding dance. This is why it is important to try out as many dance styles, with your significant other, as possible.

At By Your Side Dance Studio, we consult with our wedding couples to help them choose both the music and the dance style that is appropriate for the selected wedding dance music. We let you listen to different types of wedding dance songs and the corresponding dance style and create a custom wedding dance that is perfect for you.

Don’t Wait Until the Last Minute to Start Your Wedding Dance Lessons

One of the biggest mistakes wedding couples make is waiting until the last minute to look into wedding dance lessons. Unless you have extensive dance training, chances are you will not be able to learn and perfect a wedding dance in just a lesson or two. We typically recommend at least 10 to 20 wedding dance lessons for a custom wedding dance or first dance since this will allow you to improve your dance skills to the point where you are truly comfortable and enjoying the moment instead of worrying about the next step.

We Rocked Out On Our Wedding Dance!

We first started off learning our fox trot dance for our wedding. Deborah is a wonderful wedding dance teacher, she had so much patience because my hubby has two left feet! I thought “he’ll never get it right for our special day”. We rocked out on our wedding dance! Thanks to our amazing teacher.
