Need a reintroduction back into tap dance by brushing up on basic tap steps? In this class we go over counting, weight shifting, step heels, flaps, shuffles, knocks, across the floor and other steps to get you back on track and comfortable with basic tap routines.

Beginner Tap – Marina Del Rey

Middle Beginner Tap @ 7:15 pm
Have some prior tap training? Ready to dive back into tap after a long break? This class is a healthy challenge that will advance your skill level. Step heels, flaps, cramp rolls, irishes, time steps, across the floor and other steps will be worked on to improve your tap technique.

Middle Beginner Tap – Marina Del Rey

Intermediate Tap @ 8:30 pm
Feel comfortable with basics and beginning steps? Wanna reach a bit further? Great! Riffs, traveling time steps, back essences, paradiddles, cramp rolls, buffalos, and other complex rudiments will be taught to help you create a lively tap dance routine.

Meet Your Tap Instructor: Emily Mikolitch

Our tap program is led by the incredibly talented Emily Mikolitch, a Dallas native and graduate of UCLA’s prestigious School of Theater, Film, and Television.

Emily brings a rare blend of professional performance experience and world-class training to every class. She has studied tap dance internationally, including at the renowned Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, one of the most respected dance institutions in the world.

Her performance career has taken her to iconic stages such as:

  • Kennedy Center
  • Public Theater
  • Walt Disney World
  • International productions in Dubai, UAE

 

A Tap Teacher with Global Experience

Emily began teaching at just 15 years old and has since shared her passion for tap across the globe. She has taught at:

  • Rhythm in Fusion Festival (Dallas)
  • Monday Night Tap Experience at Debbie Allen Dance Academy
  • Cascadia Dance & Film Festival (Vancouver)
  • Syncopated Ladies Bootcamp (Dubai)
  • Dance Arts Academy (Los Angeles)

Her choreography has been commissioned nationwide, with work showcased across California, Texas, Florida, and beyond. Beyond dance, Emily also works in post-production for TV and film and recently directed a theater production at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival—bringing a creative, storytelling edge to every class she teaches.
